Air France plane crash over the Atlantic Ocean
On June 1, 2009, an Airbus A330 with 216 passengers and 15 crew on board took off from Rio de Janeiro to Paris and disappeared from radar over the Atlantic Ocean on Monday night. The plane, Air France flight AF447, was scheduled to land at Charles de Gaulle Airport but instead crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. All passengers and crew members were killed.
