Flydubai airline plane crash in Rostov-on-Don
On March 19, 2016, during landing at Rostov-on-Don airport, a FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 (8KN) airliner, operating a regular passenger flight FZ-981 on the Dubai-Rostov-on-Don route, crashed. In difficult weather conditions, the crew made two attempts to land at Rostov-on-Don airport within two hours. However, after a second unsuccessful attempt during the climb, the airliner began a sharp descent and fell at high speed onto the airport runway. As a result of the incident, all 62 people on board – 55 passengers and 7 crew members – were killed.
